Brink of War: Syria Christians Falls to the Rebel Yell of Convert to Islam or Die

A reader sent a very stern complaint about not posting a comment on the website about the civil war in Syria. I did not receive a response that I did not approve, and the reader was in distress about the hidden horror of the civil war.  The Christians of Syria come out of under the rule of a dictator to rebels forces where Al-Qaeda is supporting or is the fighting force to topple the Assad regime to usher not freedom but horror to replace a tyrant. Read the following extract from the Drudge Report about the situation in Syria:

The village of Maaloula has been taken over by Syrian rebels associated with al Qaeda, who have stormed the Christian center and offered local Christians a choice: conversion or death. A resident of the town said the rebels shouted “Allahu Akhbar” as they moved through the village, and proceeded to assault Christian homes and churches.

“They shot and killed people,” he said. “I heard gunshots and then I saw three bodies lying in the middle of a street in the old quarters of the village. Where is President Obama to see what has befallen us?” Another witness stated, “I saw the militants grabbing five villagers and threatening them and saying, ‘Either you convert to Islam, or you will be beheaded.’”

The village is located just 25 miles from Damascus, and sites within the village are dedicated as United Nations world heritage sites. Residents still speak Aramaic, the language of Jesus. The rebels who took over the city are associated with the al Nusra Front, an al Qaeda-associated Islamist group. Villagers reported foreign dialects ranging from Tunisian to Libyan, from Moroccan to Chechen. 

The nightmare of God’s people being threatened to convert to Islam or death. A military strike in Syria would take more than the US has the political will or money to spend. We are the same country that successfully obtained Osama Bin Laden in a near flawless operation into Pakistan and completed the mission outside a military complex of a sovereign country with nuclear weapons.  Assad has been given the option to give up WMD, and the US will not attack. However, the intelligence is not perfect linking the Assad regime to the chemical attack of August 21. Assets are not into the factions of rebel fighters associated with Al-Quaeda to inform the military to target the regime and terrorists factions in a Syrian attack. We cause damage to the Assad regime and negate the chemical weapon threat, but leave the terrorists to behead Christians outside Damascus. We allow fanatics to take power from a tyrant.

If we do nothing, they behead in their land; they will behead in our land one day.  The amazement is the rise of Adolph Hitler in the 1930′s. A society that burns books in 1933 would one day burn people (1940-1945) as Germany was able to implement the Holocaust. We are so weaken as a country because of our debt, and so polarized to ideology that our moral compass cannot see left from right.  Military action in Syria is not a desire of anyone, but taking a situation where is spiraling out of control to fight because Democrat or Republican made a decision to fight. When Fox News and MSNBC  is similar in their arguments on the same side about Syria, the world has become a more precarious place to exist. Pray for the people of Syria and the persecution of the Christians to stop in Syria tonight.
